Vijay’s Third Birthday

_MG_1829This past weekend we celebrated Vijay’s third birthday with a bash for around 100 of our friends and family.  We just can’t help ourselves…we love a good party.  Vijay’s birthday falls at the perfect time of year to throw a big outdoor party that not only celebrated his birthday, but allows us to see all of our friends and family that we missed over the busy summer months.  It was a great mix of people- neighbors, Vijay and Vik’s little friends, college kids, our colleagues, friends with older kids….pretty much everyone we know and love!

_MG_1818Of course no party is complete without a few party tricks- mainly face painting, balloon animals, entertainment by the Brown’s Tones (Brown’s fierce all- female a capella group), a pinata, Indian food and over 150 mini cupcakes.

_MG_1813Every year we count our blessings.  To have so many wonderful people help us celebrate our little guy is an amazing thing.  And to our sweet boy…happy birthday to the light of our lives.  We love you bunny.

Happy birthday, Vijay! Looks like a great party 🙂 Would you mind sharing who you used for the balloon animals? I’ve been looking for someone local.

Hi Tara, We used Art on the Spot (www.karaandrews.com) and they were amazing. They did balloon animals and the most amazing face painting I have ever seen! They were a huge hit!

Happy Birthday to your little guy! The party looks amazing! And I love all the fun decorations, and little pumpkins here and there. October is the perfect month for an outdoor party. Oh, and the mini cupcakes look delicious!

Well done with the party planning, your table and decorations, particularly the lanterns in the trees, are beautiful. Happy birthday to your son! My two turned 3 and 1 this week and we had a small family get-together last weekend to celebrate. I just loved all the preparations, decorating and cooking, there are so many inspiring parties out there on the internet, including your own.
