Weathering the Storm

As this week draws to a close, I feel an overwhelming sense of relief.  The storm has passed, and it left us relatively unscathed here in Providence.  We are oh-so-blessed (and our hearts go out to those who were not as fortunate).  The worst of it was being cooped up in the house for a few days due to rain and high winds.  Once the rain broke, and with it the weird balmy heat that it brought, we rushed back outside to find that the temperature had dropped overnight.  Winter is creeping in, slowly but surely.  We took Vijay’s old bear suit (remember how chubby his cheeks were?) out of storage in the attic and bundled up Vik for our evening walk.  I remember so clearly bundling Vijay in this same suit.  It now looks like doll clothing compared to his toddler duds.  What they say about parenting is so true- the days are long, but the years are so very short.
