Farewell Delhi

Flower markets of DelhiWe are packing up on our last morning in Delhi, enjoying a cup of masala chai tea. Today we will jump on a plane for a quick 1 hour ride to Jaipur, an elegant city in the northern state of Rajasthan. According to our guide book, “A labyrinth of fascinating bazaars, opulent palaces and historic sights, Jaipur is often called the “Pink City” because its prominent building are washed in this color.” Sounds like my kind of place.
Flower markets of DelhiI will leave you with a few more photos of the flower markets of Delhi. Chains of marigolds are placed underneath the small places of worship found in each Hindu home and business. The chains are replaced with fresh flowers every morning. This is part of everyday worship and ritual, the paying of respect to God with offerings.
