Life in the Coop

I wish I could be more like my chickens. Every morning, when I open their coop, they take a running leap out the door and into the sunshine. They run around the yard, stretching their wings, happy to be alive. They greet each day with that kind of enthusiasm.
They are extremely curious, pecking around in every nook and cranny, leaving no stone unturned. Every meal is a cause for great excitement and celebration. They live each day as though it was the best day ever…perhaps it is because they don’t know any better…or do they?
I think we all have something to learn from these girls. Tomorrow, I might try greeting the day as they do, with wings stretched towards the sun and eyes wide open!
